GCSE Results 2025
Posted: 21st August 2025Year 11 students at Epping St John’s Church of England School collected a stellar set of results earlier today following the release of this summer’s GCSE results.
This year’s cohort demonstrated exceptional dedication and resilience, with many students surpassing expectations across a wide range of subjects. This includes 83% of students achieving a pass grade in English, which is up from 78% from last year’s results.
Among the highest achieving students in Year 11 are:
- Jakob Crawford Two Grade 9's, Five Grade 8's, and One Grade 6
- James Sack Three Grade 9's, Six Grade 8's and One Grade 7
- Alex Moore One Grade 9, Two Grade 8's, One Grade 7, One Grade 6 and Three Grade 5's
- Isobelle Byatt Two Grade 9's, Two Grade 8's, Five Grade 7's and One Grade 6
- Ellis Newman Three Grade 9's, Two Grade 8's, Three Grade 7's and Two Grade 6's
- Hannah Griffiths Two Grade 8's, Four Grade 7's, Three Grade 6's and One Grade 4
The school would like to give a special mention to Alice Holmes, who surpassed all expectations. Alice was overjoyed to discover she had achieved a grade 8 in English. Throughout her time at school, she has overcome significant challenges and, in Year 11, completely transformed her work ethic. She now stands as a shining example of resilience and determination for younger students. Alice is excited to continue her studies at ESJ Sixth Form.
These students exemplify the hard work and commitment that has been evident across the whole year group.
Mike Yerosimou, Headteacher, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results. Once again, our students have shown great perseverance and exceeded all expectations. One of the best things about our Sixth Form is that we don’t have to say goodbye to the vast majority of our wonderful Year 11s.
“I also want to pay tribute to our dedicated team of teachers, who worked tirelessly during the school day, after school, at weekends, and in holiday sessions to give our students the very best chance of success. While exam results are important, they do not define individuals.
“Our 2025 Year 11 cohort is a kind, cohesive and tolerant community. The future of Epping is in safe hands.”
