Absolutely gutted for our year 7 boys football team tonight. To come back from 4-1 down shows real resilience and belief in their ability. We tied 4-4 and then unfortunately lost 6-5 in extra time after taking a 5-4 lead. Good Luck

It was an honour to meet and listen to Vera today. I can’t think of a time when I’ve seen children more spellbound: listening to her paint the moving story of her life and experiences - I’m sure the children will remember it for a long time to come https://t.co/wQnCprXK10

In all of the excitement I forgot to take a picture of the game. BUT our U12s are through to the second round of the Essex Cup after a 2-1 win in a great spectacle of a match. Well done to year 7 boys team. Brampton Manor are up next away.

Tonight’s match highlights exactly why we are hosting Show Racism the Red Card this Friday 18th October. The world has come so far but there’s still much to do to remove racism completely.

Executive Head's Welcome

At Epping St. John's, a mixed 11 to 18 Church of England School we are driven by the belief that learning transforms and enriches our students' lives. We educate the whole child, valuing spiritual, moral, social, cultural and academic development to ensure our student’s are ready for a diverse ever-changing Britain. We are a Church of England school where great importance is held on Christian values and community cohesion, we value the development of strong supportive relationships. Thus, every student feels valued and supported. In fact, visitors frequently comment upon the ‘friendly community’ of our school.

Excellent teaching and learning is at the heart of our school. We appreciate that students’ excel in different ways. Some of our students need the encouragement and support to attain places at our top Russell Group universities. Others need dedicated teaching and coaching in order for them to show their potential. We know that by working in close partnership with parents/carers, we can see every child succeed. Our student’s show initiative and passion as they succeed, gaining the self-confidence to be active lifelong learners.

We are genuinely an inclusive community, valuing difference and recognising that each student brings something unique to the school. We aim to create an environment that promotes diversity, equality and respect. All prejudice-based discrimination is challenged to ensure our students’ are ready to live in a diverse Britain. I believe our students get one chance to flourish with us at Epping St. John's Church of England School.

My message to all students at Epping St. John's Church of England School is that to be successful they need to have 100% BELIEF in their abilities and themselves. This means they need to or aim for:

Behave

Exceptional Achievement

Learn

Inspirational

Equality

Family

All staff at Epping St. John's have this BELIEF in their students.

I welcome you to our school and I will leave you with a quote from Nelson Mandela that resonates with me and all the staff at Epping St. John's and is my message to our students.

"Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world".

I wholeheartedly echo his thoughts, education changes the world. The education we provide the young people here at Epping St. John's Church of England School will open up doors for their future and give them the confidence and skills to change the world.
