Students revise on ski holiday
Posted: 14th March 2018It’s not all stress in the build-up to exam season – some Epping students also managed to squeeze in a skiing holiday.
Year 11 students from Epping St John’s School joined peers from Year 8 to 10 on a trip to Bormio in Italy.
While they enjoyed plenty of skiing and leisure time, they also remained dedicated to the books in preparing for their upcoming GCSE exams.
The break follows the ethos of the Burnt Mill Academy Trust which teaches students to work hard and play hard in life.
PE teacher Adam Smith said: “When coming down the mountain, the students were buzzing with all their stories of adventure.
“Each day, students made fantastic progress in their skiing ability, with the beginners competing black runs by the end of the week and the advanced group looking like they should be on Ski Sunday!
“The students could not get enough of skiing and were asking to go again on the way home.”
During the evenings, students enjoyed a pizza night, ice skating and bowling – as well as revision sessions for Year 11.
